This is a failsafe quick cheese sauce which is perfect for my fish pie ( next blog ) or cauliflower cheese. I don't think it's ever gone wrong and it takes five whole minutes to make - in one saucepan - it couldn't be easier.
Ingredients
570mls Milk
25gm plain flour
50g butter
1 teaspoon English mustard powder
75g grated strong cheddar cheese
45g grated Parmesan cheese ( I used Gruyere )
salt and pepper
Place milk, butter, cheese and mustard powder into a saucepan and whisk over a low heat until thickened, leave on a very low heat for five minutes to cook out the flour. Add in the cheese until all melted ...Done!!
